Declaration of Conformity — a document that certifies compliance with accepted norms of technical regulations or GOSTs. The presence of the declaration is necessary for the legal circulation of goods on the market.
The differences between the declaration of conformity and the certificate of conformity are as follows:
• The declaration, unlike the certificate of conformity, is issued only on a mandatory basis. It is not possible to issue a declaration of conformity for products not specified in the “Unified list of products, the confirmation of conformity of which is carried out in the form of the adoption of a declaration of conformity”.
• To declare the conformity of products there is no prescribed form. The declaration of conformity is issued on an A4 sheet and sealed with the applicant’s seal. There is already a certain form for certification and declaration.
• Responsibility for the information specified in the declaration of conformity is the applicant organization, while for the information specified in the certificate of conformity (both mandatory and voluntary), the certification body which issued the certificate is responsible.
